Groups is how you structure your organization in Zoios. A Category is a way of slicing your people (for example Department, Location or Team), and a Group is a single value within that category (for example Sales, Copenhagen or Design).
As your organization grows, the way you structure teams rarely stays simple. People sit across multiple projects, reporting lines shift, and your org chart starts to look less like a tree and more like a web. The Groups page is built for exactly that reality.

What you can do with Groups
Belong to multiple groups in the same category. An employee can sit in more than one group within the same category — so you can reflect matrix structures, project teams and shared roles without workarounds.
See how it all connects. A hierarchy (tree) view lets you visualize the parent-child relationships between your groups, so you can understand how your organization fits together at a glance.
Know who's responsible. Assign a Group responsible to any group to create clear ownership and smarter access management.
Manage it with less friction. A clean interface for creating, editing and managing your structure — a small thing that makes a big difference when you do it regularly.
Types of categories
There are a few different types of categories. They all look and feel more or less the same, but behave a little differently.

Can a person be in more than one group?
Yes. A person can be in the age 18–25 group, the male group and the IT department group all at the same time.
Can a person be in more than one group in the same category?
Can a person be in more than one group in the same category?
Yes — a person can belong to two groups in the same category at once (for example, two departments). Their scores then count towards both groups. Comments work a little differently: for anonymity reasons, a comment can only live in one group, and it's shown in the group the person was assigned to first.
