Moving from Dimensions & Segments to Groups happens automatically. Nothing is lost, and you don't have to rebuild anything. This guide explains what carries over — and how to get help if you'd like to reshape your structure.
What carries over automatically
Your existing setup maps straight across:
Before | Now |
Dimension | Category |
Segment | Group |
Your historic data, who has access, and which employees belong where all remain exactly as they were. Everything you had before still works — Groups simply adds new capabilities on top.
Making the most of the new features
Once you're in Groups, there are a few things worth doing to take full advantage of what's new:
Build out your hierarchy. Connect your groups into parent-child relationships so you can use aggregate (All) filtering and the automatic access cascade. See How to set up your organization in Groups.
Reflect matrix and project structures. Now that people can belong to multiple groups in the same category, you can model shared roles and project teams that previously needed workarounds.
Assign Group responsibles. Give each group a clear owner to set up cleaner access management.
